You never know where life will take you–Brendon didn’t plan to be a real estate agent, but it is the logical extension of his skills and interests, and he finds it very rewarding. He grew up in a suburb of Chicago, in a house designed by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, which gave him an early appreciation of architecture. As the son of an artist and an executive recruiter, Brendon saw their interesting balance of business and art, which he tries to incorporate in his own life. He has a B.A. in General Studio Arts and pursued further artistic training and a career in the arts. This path eventually led him to New England to apprentice with a sculptor and glass artist in Providence. Brendon came to Somerville in 1998 to teach glassblowing part-time at MIT and has remained there ever since, continuing to do his own glasswork as well. As a technical instructor at MIT, Brendon interacts with a wide range of bright, interesting people, which constantly challenges him to improve both his glassblowing and teaching skills. Teaching adults how to manipulate molten glass has taught him to be patient, to listen carefully, to be an effective problem-solver, and to remain calm under pressure while focused on the task.

Transitioning to real estate was a welcome opportunity for Brendon to use his teaching/coaching skills to help others through the challenges that arise when buying and selling homes. He knows these challenges from his own experience. He and his wife bought a condo in Union Square in 2006 (Thalia was their agent). Like many other couples, they found that they had outgrown the space once their second child began walking. Brendon understands and empathizes with the process most parents go through when they contemplate a move: sizing up communities, weighing the pros and cons of urban vs. suburban life, trying to find a compromise that will work for the entire family. It has been a pleasure for him getting to know the immediate and surrounding communities, schools, parks, and playgrounds. Ultimately, he and his wife upsized in 2016 to a single-family in Arlington, where he can bike to the office and to MIT, and their daughter and son have a large yard to play in.

As an agent at Thalia Tringo & Associates Real Estate, Brendon works collaboratively with his buyer and seller clients to make their transactions as smooth as possible.

Feel free to get in touch with him to discuss your needs and goals.
